The benefits of increased community space and business traffic, reduced urban pollution and noise don’t have to be limited to the summer. There’s no magical switch flipped on September 16th that stops community members from wanting to congregate on Mont-Royal. Keeping the street open into the winter months would boost the spirits of the city in the darker months, reducing seasonal depression, encouraging active sports, and letting people continue to enjoy the incredible food of Mont Royal as they do in winter markets in other areas of the city.
